Woman Greeting Friend at Grocery Store Vastly Underestimates How High Friend is
UNITED STATES — Becca Hernandez, 31, was excited to see her friend Lisa McDonovan, 30, at the grocery store until she realized something was off. “I called out to Lisa, but she had her headphones on,” Hernandez told a cashier who had asked how her day was going during check-out, “I chased her around the store, looking insane, and when I caught up to her, she looked terrified and didn’t recognize me. Then we talked for a little bit, and it was nice, but she seemed really nervous. Then I realized she was high as hell.” Hernandez admittedly smokes cannabis once in a while, but McDonovan is a seasoned cannabis user who was experimenting with a 1:1 THC/CBD drink for the first time and had ingested over 100mg of both THC and CBD roughly one hour before seeing Hernandez. The two women mostly interact on Instagram and have seen each other maybe a total of six times in real life, making the interaction even more difficult for McDonovan to handle in her vulnerable state. “She did eventually recognize me though, it’s not like we aren’t friends,” Hernandez continued to the cashier while standing in the way of the customer behind her after having already paid for her groceries, “We made plans to go out to eat sometime.” Experts agree that although the two women are probably friends, their likelihood of actually going out to eat together is very low and that Hernandez is overestimating how much people actually like going out to eat like she underestimated how high McDonovan was. McDonovan was reportedly able to buy harvest cheddar Sun Chips and make it home safely after wandering the store for an hour and listening to a podcast.
